Not sure. The good thing is that it does not have an IR cut filter between the sensor and the lens. The bad thing is the low resolution, it's a VGA chip and it only mentions 30FPS under the 320x240 resolution. From the sample picture it seems a bit too grainy for remote tracking, also there is no information on the lens and how adjustable it is. This is important for remote tracking as you want to get a close up image of the face. I am evaluating a new rig that could provide pretty good remote tracking for about US$100, will post more once its ready.

jejeje, what a coincidence! I also ordered 3 units of the camera from Hong Kong that pacotero pointed out to us a few weeks ago and I just received them and tried them out. They work pretty well and what a bargain!!! (5.95$) I would definitely recommend that model to anyone just starting with GT. Here is the link to one vendor:
http://www.ebest24.com/es/pc-100m-pixel ... ramic.html

Thanks to pacotero for finding out that model.

In other order of things and sorry for the off-topic but pacotero, make sure you activate the "Redirect mouse cursor to gaze position" in the "Options" tab of the "Setup" window. That could be it since everything else seems to be working for you.

2º habra forma de click cerrando el ojo y tambien automatico

muchas gracias por vuestro trabajo

Drozado thanks
was it because it works
now I'm going to count as my
1, the cursor moves a lot, I could use to modify the refresh
2nd click will be no way of closing the eye and also automatically

thank you very much for your job

Hi All,

Sorry guys but maybe I rush myself to praise the wonders of the 5.99$ infrared webcam from
http://www.ebest24.com/es/pc-100m-pixel ... ramic.html

After playing with it for a while I noticed that it has a relatively long latency (low response/refresh time) so there is brief lapse of time between when you put your eyes somewhere and when the mouse pointer actually arrives there. Theoretically the camera is able to generate 30 fps but I'm not sure about that. At the beginning I thought it would be a problem with and outdated driver or something but I have tried to fix the latency issue to no avail. So be aware of that before you buy that model, it may not be such a good deal after all.

I'm very interested in this Jeff Pelz's tutorial of headmounted eyetracker Building a lightweight eyetracking headgear.

Image

I inspired here in conjunction with my MS Lifecam vx-1000 and with this technique, i reached quite good accuracy with deviation about 1 cm*. Guess it ll be better if i use different IRLED, with
larger range - maybe that mentioned in the PDF document above and some head-pedestal to avoid of head movements.
Think this is a lot of inspiration for all, but i don't have money now to buy and test it. Maybe someone else want to try :)

* Can someone pls explain me how can i measure (or estimate) the accuracy asserted by commercial products? They assert ccuracy about 0.5 degree visual angle. If i'm looking at 1680x1050px LCD monitor from 55cm distance and have about 1cm deviation, what is the accuracy in comparsion with commercial systems (degrees) about?

Anyone knows how to buy the Kinamax WCM-6LNV 6-LED from Europe? Amazon.com does not ship this product to Europe (at least to Spain) and amazon.co.uk and amazon.de do not have this item on their catalog. Also a number of other vendors in the US do not ship the Kinamax webcam to Spain (I suppones to any country in Europe). I guess it has something to do with customs... :/
